The line-up at present is a 4 piece, with
the powerful harp of Chris ‘WIZZ’ Gee and
the ‘Jimmy
Vaughan Sound’ from guitar man Pete Konnanov,
backed by the solid back beat of Andy Schemet on
bass and (following the strange disappearance of Phil
O’Dell)- the amazing Henry Quick on drums.
With the 'spinal-tap'-like exit of another drummer - Henry has finally hung up his sticks- we'd now like to introduce the impressive (his words) Jon Lowe... here's his CV! >>>>

Now with a set devoted to the Fabulous Thunderbirds and
a touch of Stevie Ray Vaughan.

JON LOWE
Audio Impact Technician or The Noisy Git At The Back!
Started playing the drums while at school, needless to say the drums always came first and not my schooling...
My last day at school was my first day of being a pro musician, and that night I travelled to Carlisle for a gig with a rock group called Indigo.
I worked as a full time drummer throughout the late 60's and all the 70's, in many different bands. One band was signed up to the late and great John Peel with whom we had an LP and many other released recordings.
I joined a 'Glam Rock Band', called Smiffy, fronted by Mike Sweeny, and played almost every night for 4 years in clubs up and down the country, living mostly out of a suitcase and getting to know every bolt and rivet in the transit van.
After a short while, I was back playing rock, working with guitarists that have to have the loudest amps in the world and as many speakers that could fit in the back of a 40ft trailer. I decided to look for something different, this came in the form of The Eric Olthwaite Gang, a hard hitting Rhythm and Blues band, from Littlebrough, near Rochdale.
We played many times at Colne Blues Festival and Burnley Blues,
as well as many prestigious gigs in Great Britian, leaving them after 11 years.
Next came lots of dep. work and small tours. I spent time with Tommy Alan's Trafficker, toured England with an American Blues Guitarist called Studebaker John, and toured with the legendary Lazy Lester.
The past few years have been spent playing in Blues Bands, Crossfire to name but one.
Now it's the Marauders! |
