Who runs the migration?
Our migration team, end to end: the install, the structure mapping, every rehearsal, the go-live and the terminal switchover. Your side of it is confirming the mapping and telling us when you’re ready. It is a friction-free migration, included in the managed service.
Do we have to stop using timeware® Professional?
No. It stays your live system for the whole migration. The sync mirrors it into the cloud continuously, so there is no data freeze, no double keying, and no migration weekend.
How much has to be typed in by hand?
Nothing. The migration reads your departments, sites, job titles and people straight from your database. Your team just confirms how your structure maps onto the new platform, and employees keep their badge numbers.
Can the migration change or delete anything in our system?
No. The agent reads your database strictly read-only over outbound secure ports and never touches your live system. And it never deletes on its own: anything that disappears at the source is flagged for a human to review.
Can we rehearse before going live?
Yes, as many times as you like. Run the migration against a trial tenant, review it, reset it and run it again. You go live only when everything checks out.
What happens to our clocking terminals on go-live day?
Go-live is two-stage: your people and processes switch first, and your terminals follow on their own schedule with every punch still captured throughout. During the switchover a terminal can even report down both paths at once, and every clocking is de-duplicated automatically. No gap, no lost clockings, no doubles.
What happens to our historical data?
Your timeware® Professional database remains intact as a permanent read-only archive for reporting, disputes and HMRC lookbacks, while the cloud platform starts clean and recalculates from first principles.
Can we pause the migration?
Yes, at any time, from the cloud. A pause takes effect cleanly at the end of the current pass, and even a pause pressed while the site is offline still lands. Resuming continues exactly where the sync left off.
How do we know nothing has been missed?
Every pass produces a reconciliation report: seen, created, updated, skipped and flagged, per data type. At go-live your old system’s calculated totals are compared against the new platform’s results, and anything out of scope (asset registers, visitor logs, site scripts) is listed in a left-behind report, so nothing disappears silently.
