Do we have to replace BioStar 2?
No. BioStar 2 stays exactly as it is, running your doors. A small timeware® agent on your network connects it to the cloud.
What firewall changes are needed?
None inbound. The agent makes outbound HTTPS (port 443) connections only, no open ports, no VPN.
What happens if the site loses internet?
BioStar keeps recording. When the connection returns, the agent picks up exactly where it left off and every event is de-duplicated, nothing is lost and nothing is double-counted.
Which events come through?
Over 35 event types: face, fingerprint, card, PIN, QR and mobile credential authentications, all landing on timesheets in real time.
How is the integration licensed?
Each integration is enabled by an annual licence, included in your timeware® agreement and supported as part of the managed service.
