timeware® × Paxton Net2 · Integration
The approved Paxton Net2 integration.
Your door events, on the timesheet.
Already running Paxton Net2? Keep it. A small timeware® agent on your network connects Net2 to the timeware® cloud: door events stream to timesheets in real time and users stay in sync, both ways.
Key functions
✓
Net2 stays in charge of your doors, timeware® adds cloud timesheets on top.
✓
You choose which doors count as clocking points, a door can secure without clocking.
✓
Card, fob and keypad events land on the timesheet in real time.
✓
User sync runs Net2 → timeware® or timeware® → Net2, your choice.
✓
Departments sync two-way, and access levels map to timeware® terminal policies in either direction.
✓
Each door can be classed as access control, attendance or a fire alarm monitor for roll call.
Install
Fitted in minutes, not project weeks.
The agent installs as a Windows service or on Linux, is set up with two guided commands, and proves every connection before it finishes.
Outbound only
HTTPS on port 443, nothing inbound. Your firewall rules stay exactly as they are.
One-time pairing code
The agent enrols with a single-use, 15-minute code. Re-pairing instantly locks out any old credentials.
Always visible
A heartbeat every minute; if the agent goes quiet, timeware® shows it offline within three, with the time it was last seen.
Managed by us
Our support team can ping the agent, run syncs and watch progress live, without touching your server.
Zero loss
Built so a clocking can never go missing.
Watermark catch-up
NO GAPSThe agent tracks exactly how far it has read. After any outage it resumes from that point and works forward until it’s current.
De-duplicated
NO DOUBLESEvery event carries a unique key, so a retry or a re-send can never put the same clocking on a timesheet twice.
Quarantine, not silence
SELF-HEALINGAn event for an unknown person is held with the reason attached, and where the data allows, timeware® creates the missing employee itself and lets it through.
Questions
The Paxton Net2 integration, answered.
Do we have to replace Paxton Net2?
No. Paxton Net2 stays exactly as it is, running your doors. A small timeware® agent on your network connects it to the cloud.
What firewall changes are needed?
None inbound. The agent makes outbound HTTPS (port 443) connections only, no open ports, no VPN.
What happens if the site loses internet?
Net2 keeps recording. When the connection returns, the agent picks up exactly where it left off and every event is de-duplicated, nothing is lost and nothing is double-counted.
Which Net2 events come through?
Access-granted events from the doors you nominate as attendance points: card, fob and keypad, landing on timesheets in real time.
Which Net2 versions are supported?
It is a Paxton approved integration, compatible with Net2 version 6.02 onwards.
How is the integration licensed?
Each integration is enabled by an annual licence, included in your timeware® agreement and supported as part of the managed service.
